    • Obituary:
      Funeral services for Evan B.Evans, 73, were held at 11:00 a. m., on Monday, December 6 at Kotrba Chapel with Elder Herb Mead, of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, officiating. Interment was made in the IOOF Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Kotrba Funeral Home. Casketbearers were Russell Garry, Bennie Chocholousek, Willis Wendell, Dale Butler, Albert Ulmer and Howard Horton. Register attendant was Mrs. Donald Esterling; Mrs. Gerald Fogel, vocalist, was accompanied by Mrs. Herman Vanden Bosch at the organ. Mr. Evans was born April 10, 1898 in Lucas, Iowa, the third eldest child of John T. and Elizabeth Ann Evans and died at the Gregory Community Hospital on Sunday, December. 5, 1971. Although it was not until 1963 that E. B. and his wife, Evelyn moved to Gregory, it was here the strong ties of lasting friends were cemented. He was a life long member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and was active here as the Church Treasurer. He was also active with the Tilton Motor Company as an agent for the Farmer's Insurance group. "E.B." was always ready to help his fellow man and enriching life in this manner. Survivors are his widow, Evelyn; five sons, Evan Charles, Wendell, Edward and Robert Evans, and Martin Tilton, one daughter, Mrs.Joyce Noteboom, son-in-law Ken, daughters -in-law Agnes, Ruth, Evelyn and Janice; sisters, Mrs. Sarah E. Hervey, Mrs. Albert (Irene) Baker, Mrs. R. L. (Gwen) Amsberry, Mrs. J. E. (Viola) Fine, and Mrs. C. C. (Doris) Deitrick; three brothers, John R., Thomas H., and David S.; and many bereaved nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and daughter Betty Jean.
