John T. Evans, age 47, was living in Lucas, IA and was working as a coal miner. His household included wife Elizabeth (37) and children Sarah A. (16), Irene (14), Evan B. (12), John R. (10), Thomas H. (7), Mary G. (4), and David S. (2). Also living with the family was Evan B. and Sarah A. Morgan, John's sister and brother-in-law. It is possible that John named his children Sarah A. and Evan B. after their aunt and uncle.
