Theodore Fischer, age 51, was living in Preston Lake, MN and was working as a farmer. Family included wife Elizabeth (52) and children Cassie (19), who was working as a public school teacher, Henrietta (18), William (14), Norman (12), and Reuben (11). Elizabeth was the only family member who could not speak English at this time. Emma, the oldest daughter, was no longer living with the family, having married Wyman Townsend the year before.
